As the body begins to age, less collagen is produced. Collagen is an essential molecule naturally produced by the body. Collagen is one of the most plentiful proteins present in the body with 70% of connective tissue comprised of collagen. The collagen levels in the body affect the skin, bones, muscles, cartilage and tendons.
With the aging process, the body produces less collagen naturally. The skin takes on an aged thinning look, creating folds or fine-line wrinkles in the skins tissue. Hair begins to thin out decreasing the overall volume and thickness. Bones become more brittle and susceptible to diseases from collagen deficiencies.
